Pay It Forward
Pay It Forward tells the story of a twelve-year-old boy in a small
California town who accepts a challenge given by his teacher: Make a plan to
change the world for the better — and to put the plan in action.
The boy’s concept is simple. Do something for someone else in need and
expect no praise, reward or acknowledgement. The only expectation is to
find three other people in need and "pay it forward." They will help three
in need and so on and so on and so on.
The local Pay It Forward group was inspired by the book, turned into a
movie, by Catherine Ryan Hyde. Pay It Forward aims to make in impact in the
Sioux Falls community by raising money publicly to be given away privately.
Every cent raised is given away. There are no administrative costs. Often
those who are helped do not know where the assistance came from.
